About
Matt is an accounting graduate of Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. Since starting with the firm, he has worked in a variety of areas including individual and business taxation, consulting, and assurance services. Over the years, he has developed an expertise in the audits of governmental and nonprofit entities and has concentrated a majority of his continuing education to the planning and performing of these types of audits as well as the related financial reporting. His experience with our governmental and nonprofit clients has helped him understand and recognize problem areas and suggest ways to improve those areas for the Organization’s benefit. Many of the audits that Matt has performed have required the use of Government Auditing Standards and the Uniform Guidance. Through his involvement with the auditing of various federal programs, Matt has acquired skills necessary for the testing of compliance and internal controls over compliance.In addition to audits of other governmental agencies, Matt is the acting finance director for two Arizona towns. His duties as finance director at these towns provides him with a strong knowledge of the unique accounting and finance challenges facing local governments. It has also allowed him to gain strong working knowledge in accounting software such as Caselle, Springbrook, and Incode.Matt is a proud father of four and is the husband to his beautiful wife Jessica. Matt actively volunteers at his church as a leader of youth ages 11-18. He enjoys spending time outdoors at the lake, hunting, fishing, and watching his kids at their activities.Matt speaks and writes Spanish as a second language as he has served his church on a volunteer basis while living in Costa Rica.
